OUR PROCESS

A simplified version of the important steps we take to ensure a quality, well thought design.

Introductory Meeting

Building a home or doing a renovation is big commitment. You need to feel confident that your designer can design a space that captures the essence of your life style. The first meeting with Andrew is complementary in order to get to know one another, share ideas, learn more about the project and feasibility.

Feasibility

Once we understand the scope of your project we will determine the feasibility. This will be based on the site conditions, size of project, style of house, personal expectations, and quality of finishes. In preparation we will send you a questionnaire and program to outline more specific requirements and wishes. After the above is determined we will supply an Estimated Cost to Build which will determine the budget for the project..

Planning

Planning consists of the research done before commiting to a design. We'll need to do research into things like zoning, bylaws, required engineering, environmental agencies ect. This stage will determine the limiting factors of the design and eventually the build.

Design

This marks the culmination of meticulous planning, feasibility assessments, and budgeting. Leveraging the data collected, we meticulously craft preliminary layouts, site plans, and elevations for your review. This stage is where collaboration thrives as we exchange ideas and refine the design until it meets your exact specifications. Upon finalizing your dream space, we seamlessly transition to producing comprehensive construction drawings.

Permit Submission

After the home is designed and all required plans and paperwork are acquired, they are then submitted to the town for approval. Depending on the location, township and design, the length of time for approval varies. This is service we can provide if the client requests.

Build

Once the building permit has been approved, construction can commence. This is when the initial work starts to materialize. It is inevitable that questions or modifications will arise during the construction process, so having the guidance of a designer is crucial. To prevent any delays, any inquiries or alterations will be addressed promptly
